How do I make data from specific columns the same in two workbooks

I am trying to compare data from two workbooks by using a deliniating link. This link uses Name/Date/Site#. Sometimes there are data entry mistakes causing the Name, or site to be different that it is supposed to be in the reports I run.

Is there a way to use a master file to replace the incorrect data with the correct data so that the link matches?

@Alevie45 Have you tried the join tool or Find and Replace tool?

Hi @Alevie45

At a basic level i think this is what you're looking for, if you know what the incorrect values already are (or can add into the master file as required)

Essentially you can use the Find Replace tool to overwrite data based on what is held within the master file, where you define the incorrect value and what it should actually be. If there is no value in the master it keeps the data as is.

The Join tool is merely to show the original data vs the changed data and isn't required for the solution.

Workflow attached, hope this helps!

Join tool and find and replace tool are the best combination to solve the problem.
Also expect something very out of the box and want to correct the spellings.
such as "Alevie" is "Aleviee" in that case you can include Fuzzy match as well.
