Hi Users,
I have a question. Excel files generated from 'Output' Tool are very raw and I want them to be in format eg, Headers to be bold and to be coloured, data as fit to column, numbers in 'Number' format etc. Is there any way to achieve this via tool only so that I don't have to manually format my reports every time I run the workflows.
Thanks in advance!
Regards
Neha

You can use the reporting tools to format a table for output that will give you those options.
Other than that, you would have to output to an excel template that has a set format or conditional formatting applied.

Example Workflow:
Input Data Tool:
Configure to read your input file.
Prepare Data (e.g., Filter, Sort, etc.):
Add necessary data preparation tools.
Table Tool:
Connect to your prepared data.
This tool structures your data into a table format.
Report Text Tool:
Connect to the Table Tool.
In the Report Text Tool, you can configure the headers to be bold and colored.
Text: Your header text
Style: Bold, desired font color
Render Tool:
Connect to the Report Text Tool.
Configure the Render Tool:
Output Mode: Choose "Excel"
Template: If you have a pre-existing Excel template with the desired styles, you can use it here.
Sheet Name: Specify the sheet name.
Orientation: Choose your desired page orientation.
Paper Size: Choose your desired paper size.
Output Data Tool (optional):
If you want to further manipulate or save your data, you can add this tool as needed.
hope this helps

Hi @NehaIHG, you could create empty template file with the formatted header with set column widths and colours, you can also Freeze Panes and add Filters. Then when you run the workflow, use the Run command tool to copy the template to the name of your output file, using the Preserve Formatting option.
See the attached example. You'll need to save the Template in C:\Temp before running it.
