Hi everyone!

Can anyone help me to to fill the blank rows in the a column  from the row given at a lower position. In the attached excel template, you can easily understand my query, once you see Source and Output tabs.

I want to derive the name of category in for items 1,2 and 3 from the category given for Item_4 and so on.

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kamran

One easy way is to reverse sort, then use a multirow formula of "IIF (isnull([Category]), [Row-1:Category], [Category])". See attached.

Hi @terry10, Thanks for your help. Is it not possible without reversing ?

Thanks,

Kamran

Hi @Kamran1991 ,

Here's one way that you can do it without reverse sorting, although the method @terry10 suggested would be my go to solution if you are allowed to reverse sort.
