Files won't load: Root Element is Missing

Spoiler
Hello Community,

Yesterday Alteryx crashed when I was running a workflow and when I attempted to run the same workflow, along with several others, the error prompt appears saying:

'There was an error opening"FILE_NAME":  Root element is missing.'

Has anyone encountered this before and have a solution?

Thank you,

Bryan Williams

Hello again,

I found a work around in two ways to help me recover some of the work I lost:

1.  Open autosaved files, found in the 'Open Autosaved Files' under the "File" option on the toolbar

2.  Load a .bak file (if you opted to have them) by adding the .yxmd file extension to it at the end.

Hope this helps somebody else,

Bryan

Oh, it did very much! I had lost 2 days of weekend work.

I have the same issue, but opening from autosaved continually is frustrating, and the BAK solution did not work.  Is there another way to actually fix the workflow?  What causes this?  Thanks!
