File Input using a Macro

Hey guys,

Hope somebody could help me with this, I am creating a Batch Macro just for changing some characters from different fields; however the idea for this Macro is that at the moment that the users are creating their workflows could use this macro as a complement for this and change the characters on different fields from different input (not a specific input or the same input everytime).

In consequence, I need your help to know how can i make that my macro takes the same input that it is the using any user without changing any configuration in the macro, just use my macro as it would be another tool that will change the characters no matter which is the input that the user select.

Do you have any idea for this?

Hi @Diemm ,

Only to be clear, the user will drag your macro, select the fields to be changed and the macro automatically identify those fields and does the job, right?

Or is your macro being run automatically for all fields in the table?

Best,

Fernando V.

Hi @Diemm ,

I'm not sure the specifics to know why you are using a batch macro instead of a regular macro.

My example shows a way of accomplishing that disregarding the column names from the macro input.

Maybe I am oversimplifying your problem, if so, let me know please.

That it is exactly what am i trying @fmvizcaino. Give the option to the user to select those fields that needs to be changed by my macro and that my macro identify automatically those fields selected and change the characters.

Do you have any idea of how to do this?

I have downloaded the files that you posted it, they function, however, the inconvenient that i have it is that the drop-down list needs to be previously customize, and in my case, the idea is that the macro works with any workbook, so it would be impossible to previously customize the list with all the names of the fields required.

So you have any idea of how can i make this?

Hi @Diemm ,

Sorry, I selected the wrong option in the macro list box tool. Now it is working as it should be, I hope.

Please, mark the answer as correct if I got everything right 🙂 if not, let me know what I can do to help you further.

Best,

Fernando V.
