Do files opened from Gallery not auto-save while working (to desktop)?

I opened a file from Gallery and was using it basically as a template to make another file. I did not save it. My Alteryx crashed. Now I cannot find the progress. Next time will obviously save down the file to my desktop with a new name, but does opening from Gallery make autosave to desktop not work? I looked in auto-recovered files (even the nondescript files names) etc.

Yes, it was not there. I am asking if that is because it was opened from Gallery and thus not auto-saving to my local machine

@danilang -- oops.  I should probably remove that...  :)

@MemphLantAntonio  -- That I am not sure.  I dont think it creates an autorecovery if no changes were actually made.  But hopefully someone else can weigh in on that.
