Converting a specific string to a date

I m trying to take a String field in the format of "DEC-2025" and convert it to a true date. Is that possible? Ive tried a few things but nothing works so far

Hi @timman 

You want to use the DATETIMEPARSE() function

datetimeparse([field],'%b-%Y')

should convert that format into a date

Couldn't remember what Alteryx did with the missing "day" value in @OllieClarke's solution.  Curiosity got the better of me (or a quick opportunity to build an illustration for myself).  Here's what it does:
