Compare two excel files

Hi,

I have to compare two excel files, which contains the same headers for 3 variables:

1. Name: Company name

2. Registered Holder: the owner of the company in variable 1

3. Ownership %: The registered holders ownership percentage of the company in variable 1

File 1 is the correct list of companies and their respective registered holders and ownership percentage.

File 2 is the old list of companies and their respective registered holders and ownership percentage.

The main issue is that there can be small discrepancies in the company and registered holder names, which makes this a bit more complex than what I can freestyle.

Ultimately the output should show me if the old list needs to be updated, both in terms of registered holder and ownership percentage.

I hope you can help, thanks in advance!

If there are small discrepancies, you'll likely have to look at the Fuzzy Match tool. Here's a great article showing it: Tool Mastery | Fuzzy Match correspondance partielle fuzzyübereinstimmung

Once you find the possible matches, you can Join to bring across the new information you need. Good luck!
