Average function in the Formula tool not working

I am using the average function in the formula tool to create an average column of several other columns. Here is a sample row I am averaging:

88.86

919.92

0

108597.8

584.51

0

0

12066.37

57.15

The average function reads the average as 15289.32625 but when checking in excel the average is actually 13590.51222. Even when taking out the zeros this does not match. Does anyone know why this would be?

Hi DataBlender - Thank you for your reply. I found an error in my Average formula where I included a "+" instead of a "," between the column names. Thank you for your help
