Append fields, bringing in column without multiplying record count

Hi,

Say my target has 7 and source has 7 records each. But now it is creating 49 records using the append tool.

I just want to bring in one column from the source into the target data set.

Can this be done?

Maybe you are referring the Join by Position option in Join  tool?

We can also use a Select tool to remove unnecessary columns.
