Alteryx Auto Insights' default comparison period is against the previous period.
However in some cases, it may be more useful for you to compare against 2 or 3 periods ago. For example, when you want to compare your current metric performance against what it was pre-pandemic.
Comparing monthly view
You can compare your measure this month to same time 2 years ago by selecting your comparison period to a rolling range of same month and offset by 2 years.
Comparing yearly view
You can compare your measure this year to 2 years ago by selecting your comparison period to a rolling range of previous year and offset by 1 year.
