Filter Tool - Action replacement bug?

Question

Hi,

there seems to be a bug in Filter Tool when Action Tool is trying to replace Basic Filter value. The same replacement works just fine if Custom Filter is used instead. This is in Designer version 2018.3.5.52487.  Sample macro and tester workflow attached.

Could someone validate this?

Not a "bug", just poor design IMHO.

You need to expand the "Simple" tree and make your actions there.

As mentioned this is by design.

If you are using a basic filter then you must expand the simple elements.

If you are using a custom filter then you edit the expression.

Reason being, you can have your custom filter say something different to your basic filter, and the only thing telling Alteryx which one to choose is the radio button.
