Alteryx and McLaren are teaming up to host a Datathon on Tuesday 14th March, 2023 at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC).
The McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) is the Group Headquarters and home to McLaren Racing comprising of Formula One, IndyCar, Formula E, Extreme E and Esports teams, as well as, their high performance road car business McLaren Automotive.
This thread will help answer questions with anything you might like to know about the event and the preliminary round happening on March 6 - from how to register to details about the in-person competition.

The Details:
Round 1 – The Escape Room Challenge
- Round 1 will begin at 1pm on Monday 6th March and you will have between 1pm-3.30pm to work towards a solution. Round 1 is a time-based challenge and the first twenty (20) individuals to correctly solve the problem will be eligible to move on to Round 2.
Round 2 – Second Data Challenge
Teams of 3-4 will work together to solve a data challenge in real-world data racing data from McLaren.
- Teams will be assigned and will participate in Round 2 – The Final at McLaren Technology Centre (MTC), Tuesday 14th March from 8.30am.
- All finalists must register in person at the MTC on 14th March from 8:30am for Round 2 to register and to gain access to the problem.
- During Round 2, Finalists will be given 2 hours to solve as many use cases as possible to earn as many points as possible followed by ten (10) minutes to present findings to our panel of esteemed judges. Judges will pick the top 3 teams to compete in a time-based round.
What you can win: The winning team will receive Alteryx scholarships up to the value of $1,000 USD!
Register today*! Up to 80 participants will have the opportunity to join the Finalists at the MTC to watch the Datathon and enjoy a tour of McLaren HQ. No previous experience required, beginners are welcome!
