Server Migration , failure to sign in or run workflows

 Hello,

I have two servers, legacy and new.  New server seems to allow login from within the server when using remote desktop.  From local browser, 'sign in' goes back to 'sign in'.  All workflows from server or local browser do not allow for workflows to run.  Error msg: 'The App Interface could not be loaded'.

and "Nonce not found' and 'unknown error. Exception requestID'

two testers were able to login a day before and run workflows.

Server 2020.3.

Have tried to restart the service.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you,

rdt

Hi @tothd ,

A few questions to help understand your scenario.

  1. Previous Alteryx Server version?
  2. Did you perform the pre-upgrade checks?
  3. Sign-in going back to sign-in: Do you mean the browser pop-up? Could you please share a screenshot?
  4. Are you able to publish and run new workflows?

Thank you,

Fernando Vizcaino

Hello Fernando Vizcaino,

  1. Previous Alteryx Server version? Same version, 2020.3 x64 from one platform to GCP.  This was a platform migration, not an upgrade.
  2. Did you perform the pre-upgrade checks? No.  Exact copy from Windows 2012R2 to Windows 2019.
  3. Sign-in going back to sign-in: Do you mean the browser pop-up? Could you please share a screenshot? Yes.  THis seems to be doing the correct action now and shows the user name as logged in.
  4. Are you able to publish and run new workflows? Can publish , but not run.  "App interface can not be loaded error".  See screenshots "NewWorkflow_*"

Hey @tothd ,

Thank you for the answers. I believe the problem here is with the way you migrate your server.

For a server migration, you have to do a process called host recovery. Please follow the steps as stated here: https://help.alteryx.com/20203/server/server-host-recovery-guide
