This article is part of the Tool Mastery Series, a compilation of Knowledge Base contributions to introduce diverse working examples for Designer Tools. Here we’ll delve into uses of the Report Header Tool on our way to mastering the Alteryx Designer:

You know what they say; the devil is in the details. Precious little separates a good report from a great one and it often comes down to just a few details. Don’t let a report header be the detail you left out – use the Report Header Tool to painlessly add header reporting elements to your reporting creations! Use it to:

  • Add header text or dates to reports (attached in Report Header.yxmd):

  • Include logos in document headers (attached in Report Header.yxmd):

  • Lead letters/reports with referential information (attached in Report Header.yxmd):

If need be, you can alternatively add headers to your reports by using the Report Data configuration options of the Render Tool and a reporting element from the Report Text, or another reporting category, tool.

By now, you should have expert-level proficiency with the Report Header Tool! If you can think of a use case we left out, feel free to use the comments section below! Hi @MattD, if I were like to have the report header appear in 1st page only but not the rest, is that possible?
