hi @cs11, thanks for your idea. User feedback helps our product team with future planning and understanding users' needs more directly.

There are a few ways in which this can generate some value. First would be in pricing, both in terms of added sales and in additional information, by breaking down the increment to something smaller than a one year license. True in particular for the add-ons which can result in significant cost for the user. I think you can learn about the value of the product by monitoring decision making around buying an annual license vs using an AWS pay as you go license. You can check on sensitivity when you modify the AWS price. You can also check to see if this makes exploring new business ideas a bit easier, or makes it easier to plan sustaining business costs. Making these steps easier may in turn increase conversion of projects from other applications to Alteryx.

Second might be in launching beta versions of new tools.  You have other means for doing this, but launching a beta version in AWS may expand your toolkit for doing this type of testing and may make some launches possible at an earlier time point.  It may also add convenience for end users who specifically need and have requested a specific new tool, and who may have interest in testing the tool before you are ready to include it in your product even as a beta version tool. The customer may prefer to do this early test in AWS, somewhere away from their production application. The same can be true more broadly for any early adopter.

Third might be in collecting data around application usage. I would guess that you can obtain more specific information on usage patterns via AWS than you collect copies purchased through annual license agreements. This information might then be used to improve the product.
