Replace Filter Value with Developer Update Value Tool

I'm creating a macro that requires a date argument input through the date picker, which will then use the update value tool to change the date value in a filter.

The filter expression will look like this:

Date >= [Question.Date]

I was able to get a similar update value to input into a Multi-Row formula tool, but I am having type issues with the date filter and cannot get it to work.

Any ideas?
