Hi,
Apologies as I am relatively new to Alteryx, but I was wondering how you would best use Alteryx to work out the penetration of certain values for a given variable.
For example, if I have sorted and concatenated the data to look similar to:
Basket 1 | Apples,Oranges,Bananas,Soap,Toothpaste |
Basket 2 | Bananas,Soap,Lettuce,Chocolate |
Basket 3 | Apples,Alcohol,Toothpaste |
Basket 4 | Apples,Hat,Oranges,Soap |
What would be the best way of organising a workflow to then work out the Basket Penetration of each item?
So ending up with like:
Product | Apples | Oranges | Bananas | Soap | Toothpaste | Lettuce | Chocolate | Hat |
Total Occurrence | 3 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
% Penetration | 75% | 50% | 50% | 75% | 50% | 25% | 25% | 25% |
Thanks,
Oli

@obridgeman Still would need a bit of formatting and it's a little messy, but it would get you there. Wanting the table horizontally is what takes the most effort here.
Thank you all for the quick replies!!
This ended up being the solution that worked the best for the data I had.
I had to split the string up and unique it in order to get the accurate penetration (multiple of the same items in the same basket) but got there in the end!
Definitely learned a bit more from this so thanks again!
