Connecting to Tableau Server as Data Source

I hope you can help me on how can I connect directly to Tableau Server through a connector or input tool? so I can use the files as my live data source.

Hi @Mwatts23 , unfortunately such feature is still yet to come and is not currently supported.

If you are a tableau server administrator, you can download a data source via the Tableau REST API.

Have a look at this:

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, our IT Team don't want us to connect to Exasol where it is used as the data source for the Tableau Server.

Thank you for the info. I am not a Tableau Admin. So I don't know if REST Api will work.

FYI - you don't need to be a Tableau Server admin to use the REST API to download the Tableau Data Sources.
