Q3 was a very exciting quarter: we released our new caching feature in Alteryx Analytics 18.3, mini Detroit Tigers fans warmed our hearts with their “line of awesomeness”, Maximiliano Rey Marks aka Maxo was born (ok, so he was born a few minutes before the stroke of midnight on July 31st, but close enough!), and we had our ACE Broomfield visit with Jason Mack (@dataMack), Director of Analytics Capabilities & Innovation at JPMorgan Chase and Mike Treadwell (@michael_treadwell), Alteryx Practice Lead at InterWorks!

They flew into Denver bright and early on Tuesday August 7th, from Wilmington, DE and Baton Rouge, LA respectively. As soon as the ACEs arrived at the Broomfield Technology Center, Katelyn Hooks (@KatelynH) and I greeted them with swag bags and gave a tour of the newly renovated office. We grabbed some lunch, and it was off to the races. Starting with an all-hands product experience session, Jason and Mike had an opportunity to share their individual journeys with Alteryx, ACEhood, pain points, as well as their fall-in-love moments with our platform and the people who work tirelessly behind it. The next two days were jam-packed with 1 on 1 in-depth discussions with Product Management, Community, Product Engineering, and Creative Services. Though there never seems to be enough time to squeeze in all the feedback, ideas, and questions into 2 days, I think we were quite successful! There was even some play time set aside on our awesomely spruced up 3rd floor.

We like to learn about our customers’ “data a-ha moments” but the same was happening again and again with our own internal staff. Jason said, “I noticed several times among the Alteryx team members when we were walking through a desired feature or explaining how we thought something should work – seeing the light bulb go off as it made the connection and gave them the confirmation they may have needed [or] that they were on the right track.”

Both Jason and Mike were specifically thrilled to have the opportunity to sit down with Sr. Product Manager, Colin Ristig (@ColinR) to learn more about Promote and discuss its capabilities. One of Mike’s favorite parts of the visit was meeting all the associates he’s worked with over the years in person and forging new relationships with the team. He candidly noted “I love being on a first name basis with folks I work with.” and was thankful for the opportunity to all be under one roof. He is looking forward to staying in close contact with the Promote team as they build out new automated ML capabilities.

To close out the visit, we hosted the Denver AUG Q3 meeting in the office, where Chad Martin (@chadcmartin) of Data Prep U gave a great Inspire Anaheim recap, Alexandra Mannerings (@AliKat) of CHA shared her Excellence Award winning use case, and then opened it up for Q&A with the ACEs. As expected, the meeting ran over amid all the comprehensive questions that were asked and back and forth discussions between the 60 something folks in the room.

Thank you to everyone who made this ACE Broomfield visit such a fun and productive one! We sent Jason and Mike home exhausted, albeit smiling and hungry for more feedback and collaboration. Whether we hear it or say it, it is without a doubt that Alteryx has the best customers. Our community is made up of the most passionate and inquisitive individuals, and we would not be where we are today without them. A huge thank you to our ACEs, and we can’t wait to be in the same room again soon!
