There must be something I'm not following in the instructions!  Mine looks ugly 😂!  I'll have to use this one as a learning experience to find out what I didn't understand.

Probably not the most efficient approach, but got it sorted and seems to run a lot quicker than solution workflow so happy with that.

Fist point is randomly generated and fed into macro, which iterates back with new midpoint each time.

Wow an absolutely brutal challenge. So many good spatial functions available in the formula tool to help though.

Here's my solution. I have to admit I was completely lost and overwhelmed... and then I read the directions 😂

It was surprisingly straightforward, although I can't explain how it worked. 

I upped the iterations to 10K to make those triangles -pop-.
