In my solution, I tried to avoid looking for very specific letter patterns, as in rea life we would not be able to verify it so easy.
Although this resulted in slightly different row numbers, the unique count is the same between my solution and output file.
Positives: had a plan for the solution and mostly stuck to it. There were quite a few edge cases in there that I had to be careful of. But the logic of getting a lookup of all the company names and joining them back on to then copy down across rows worked well.
Beyond that could have been more effective perhaps in parsing the data more purposefully once i got there.
Overall, actually happy with the solution I got all companies bar 2 and I identified one being an idential row for Stateside Associates or something so not actually missing networking data in that sense. Ideally I would have liked to have done this faster but I think it is hard to cut time spent studying the data and considering things like edge cases.
This challenge haunted me for a long time. I'm glad I'll never have to look at it again. My solution was pretty solid except for the RFI and company duplicate, which I filtered out manually after validating my final output. I can finally say I'm decent at regex :D
(Update: I realized that there was a small difference in the Stateside companies so I didn't treat them as duplicates and brought them back in)
