My solution here, took more than 12 min though...

A quick note: I thought the Date Time tool has a droplist for you to select the field to parse? I cannot find the droplist button and had to type in the field name manually. With 2018.2

@Aster You should definitely have a drop down list from which to chose.

Thank you Jimmy. I was using remote desktop last week and now I have confirmed the droplist is there.

Perhaps something wrong with the remote desktop causes the button not to render. Thanks anyway!

Definitely not as much fun as watching it live. Took me under 3 minutes.

Used the Multi-Field formula tool to convert the date strings into actual dates, and change the data types, simultaneously.
