How do you go about submitting a weekly challenge for alteryx nation? or is the list forever long currently?

Hi @bdelarosa!  We love hearing challenge ideas from our Community members!  If you have an idea that you think would make a good challenge, send an email to academy@alteryx.com.  With your email, please include 1) The input data that will be used for the challenge, 2) your solution workflow and 3) the wording for the question to include in the start file.  We can work with you to suggest any changes for clarity or formatting.  Please make sure that no personal identification information or proprietary data is included in the input datasets.

We look forward to seeing the challenge you create for our Community!

It looks like something has broken in this bit where it is trying to parse out the challenge id, name, level of difficulty and subject of the challenge.

It looks like the pattern it's trying to find no longer exists, is anyone else having this issue?

Yes I've had a similar issue, with my workflow. It looks as though the parsing function may have changed, i'll take a look at mine this evening and update you when I've got it working. But i'd be interesting in knowing why it's changed recently.

I've looked at my version and part of the workflow is pulling from the Weekly Challenge Index, which hasn't been updated past #170.  I'm thinking of redoing how I pull the challenges.  If I have time this week I'll post an updated tracker.

First off I want to say a massive thank you to whoever in the community team updates the 'Top 10 Challengers' table each week.

I'm sure it's not the most exciting task on your weekly to-do list and over the months and years it must add up to a pretty huge amount of time spent crunching the data and updating the board. It's noticed and appreciated, and I hope this is taken as constructive feedback.

The analyst (and maybe the pedant) in me can't help noticing that it's not really a true top 10. For example, this week we have 15 people on the list who (if you allow multiple people for each rank, as I think we should) encompass ranks 1 to 6.

It would make more room for others in the community to appear in the top 10 if it was structured along these lines:

RankChallengerChallenges Completed
1@Kenda, @NicoleJohnson172
2@estherb47, @PhilipMannering, @RichoBsJ, @danilang, @ggruccio, @jamielaird, @pasccout, @patrick_digan171
3@kat169
4@kelly_gilbert168
5@LordNeilLord167
6@jasperlch166
7
8
9
10

If that creates some extra work then it might be a reasonable trade-off to update it less frequently, say on the 1st of every month. Assuming that is unlikely to fall on a Monday very often that also provides a bit more of a buffer in between the most recent weekly post and the table being updated which would make it easier for non-US timezone folks to enjoy the occasional glory of a number one spot.

Hi @JoeM , can you explain how the new Challenges Completed are being tallied and how the standings went from the top ones being 160-170's to now low 30's?  Is it a bug?
