Lots of joins. Seemed a lot more complex than necessary. My biggest problem was trying to understand the value of the final output (from a business/analytical perspective). I probably would have simplified the process as well as the output.
Got the pumpkin numbers per state per year after a join, the max and min pumpkin numbers per year in one summarise and the average pumpkin numbers per state in another summarise. Then used a lot of joins to put the data in the format requested.
