SUBMIT YOUR IDEAI'm off by 100 seconds but I'm not too sure why - nevertheless this is a really cool challenge and makes me want to read/watch the Martian :)
Getting a little bit different as most did vs the output with the assumptions that I made but I'm happy that the logic is all correct. The Martian is one of my favourite movies so this was a great one
Here's my solution. It's a couple minutes slower because I made the assumption that if you have to duplicate a character that it will rotate 360 degrees. I couldn't think of a non-manual way to edit this to go back to the question card and then back to the duplicate character.
Probably people have already mentioned this, but the given solution looks wrong...
- The given solution does not start at the Question.
- There are camera_turn values that are greater than 180 degrees, meaning the algorithm for working out the turn is wrong somehow.
I make it 38.91 minutes. I could have made a mistake myself of course, I hate calling out errors in solutions because you sound like a smart-ass and you open yourself up to a kicking. However, this was a great question, so hard even Alteryx got it wrong (ahem).
Finally getting around (lol) to get this challenge off of my to do list.
