I was surprised at how easy the summarize tool worked.

After looking at other solutions it may not be clear that I used the Summarize to create a centroid given all the points in one column.

  1. Use the Formula tool to create a line, create a centroid, and then convert to string
  2. Spatial Tool, built line, create centroid
  3. Summarize tool to create centroid, convert to string, regex to extract coords

Never even thought it could be so easy to average the coords, but makes some sense.  I wonder how accurate it is given that'd be 2d planar, but the earth is a sphere.  Probably be more accurate to use a Great Circle.

For the curious the Great Circle mid point would be...

N 36 58 24.87 , W 111 44 9.65

C226 was solved, thanks!

Way 1: X = (x1+x2)/2, Y = (y1+y2)/2
Way 2: Build a line from 2 point then using Spatial Info to find Centroid
Way 3: Intersection of circle having Irvine centroid and radius = 1/2 distance from 2 points

Really fun challenge!  Two methods came to mind immediately.  The third is a little wacky in comparison but gets it done!  I'm excited to go see other people's methods.
