Challenge #2: Preparing Delimited Data

Here is my submission for the challenge!

 

Please see pictured my progress from my first attempt (above) to my last attempt (below).

 

Instead of using the formula tool to change the Poem_Read_Date to a "Date" datatype column with the DateTimeParse function, I opted for the DateTime tool. Also, to remove the double quotes I used the string function StripQuotes.

 

This helped me reduce the number of complex formulas used but at the cost of a larger file size.

 

I tried to cut down my first attempt as I noticed my use of tools was a little unorganized.

I've used Regex again to parse the data. When I first started learning Alteryx my teacher gave us this exercise when teaching about the basics of data parsing.
