I highly recommend the video training Build Your First Iterative Macro! available in the Academy to get a better understanding of the way iterative macro work.

Here my solution

Wanted to make this accept varying input sizes, and scale beyond n=5 rows of input. We can view each employee-manager relationship as an edge in a directed acyclic graph. Using a V_WString as (approximately) a byte array to compactly represent those relationships, its easy to order the edges in the hierarchy. Ultimately, uses 2x joins to complete for any length of input up to ~30k rows.

First I built a solution without using a macro. Then I managed to create one with a macro as well, but for this I had to have a peek at the solution.. well, it's my first macro ever  🙂

Good exercise.
