Rebecca Beaird - Williams GasThank you to all who were able to attend our 4th quarter meeting! This was our third gathering, and we are excited to now be an "official" Alteryx User Group with this meeting. We have several users in the Tulsa area, and look forward to future meetups and opportunities to share successes and use cases.
The meeting was held on Wednesday, November 6th in the BOK/Williams Tower in downtown Tulsa. We had 24 in attendance representing Williams, QuikTrip, BOK Financial and Merit Advisors.
A special thank you to our presenters, Rebecca Beaird from Williams Gas and Heather Harris, Alteryx Field Chief Data and Analytics Officer.
Rebecca demonstrated how their tax group is using the Alteryx OCR bolt on technology (part of the Intelligence Suite) to read in hundreds of printed/mailed tax invoices from various entities. With the help of this technology, they are now able to save countless hours by reading in the details from each invoice so they can pay the invoices. Additionally, she shared how the group is also utilizing control containers and the Email tool to trigger emails automatically if projects aren't set up correctly, missing payments, and incomplete tax calendars.
Heather Harris
Heather Harris from Alteryx happened to be in Tulsa and graciously joined our meeting. She spoke to the group about the ever so popular subject of AI. She shared thoughts, details, and uses of AI, even those who are using it to generate images. Asking AI for an answer is now presenting legal, ethical, and even diversity and inclusion questions. (Presentation attached below)
In closing, we asked the group about future meetings, presentations and locations. The group thought the best place to hold future meetings is in the same place, as it is centrally located with the most users at this time. QuikTrip has offered their space as a possibility. Steve Rex (QuikTrip) raised his hand to be a presenter for our next meeting. After discussion, the best time to have the next meeting will be in March 2025. More to come on details.
