Position Overview:
The Sr. Underwriting Analyst provides critical support through analyzing, measuring and guiding business performance as it relates to underwriting and claims trends. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, curious, detail oriented, and enjoy financial modeling. This high impact role provides direct financial and operational support to senior business leaders and partners with key internal stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Account Management, IT, Marketing, Product Management, as well as external Underwriters.
Responsibilities:
- Summarize complex datasets, ideas, and concepts into meaningful and concise financial models, reports and summarized findings
- Develop new dynamic models while maintaining complex existing models using Excel, Alteryx, Tableau and Hyperion (SME across all technology platforms)
- Partner with key business owners to prepare annual budget presentations, quarterly strategic plans and monthly forecasts
- Work closely with external underwriters on key reporting and monthly data requirements
- Play an integral role in semi-annual underwriting rate reviews by building required reports, decks and presenting findings
- Collaborate with Senior leaders to ensure operational and financial goals are being met through UW expense analysis, variance analysis and KPI reporting
- Support on-going initiatives to automate, improve and streamline the analysis and reporting process by developing exception reporting, building quality controls, and offering insights and improvements on data discrepancies
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance related field
- 5 years of relevant corporate financial analytics experience
- Able to communicate effectively across all functions and levels, including presenting ideas and analysis to senior management
- Demonstrated success building, maintaining, and governing analytical models
- Expert in MS Excel and financial modeling with exposure to reporting tools such as Brio, Tableau, Alteryx and Hyperion Planning

Salary Range: $84,975.00 to $113,300.00
Annual Bonus Potential: 10%
