Accountant II, Fixed Assets

 

Overview
The Capital Asset Reporting team is entrusted with maintaining accurate financial records for real estate and equipment assets distributed throughout the chain. This is a professional role that requires an individual be responsible for intermediate level fixed asset accounting in support of Corporate Financial Services. A Fixed Asset Accountant II will possess a broad understanding of Chick-fil-A’s acquisition policies and practices and apply knowledge to distinguish between capital costs and expenses. This role requires relationships with key personnel within Financial Services to clarify appropriate expenditure coding for property asset creation. The Capital Asset Reporting team is looking for an independent, coachable, detailed-oriented individual to fulfill this role.

 

This role is based at the corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA. It is fully remote until January 2021. At that time you will be required to be in the office 10 days a month on average.

 

Responsibilities

  • This role is the primary resource for intermediate journal entry creation and transaction validation. With moderate supervision, roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Account for recurring restaurant activity including new restaurant development and restaurant reinvestment projects under the consultation of more senior accountants or with People Leader on complex issues
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset general ledge accounts and track status of capital projects, both restaurant and corporate projects
  • Recording fixed asset acquisitions and recognizing dispositions in the accounting system through cost accumulation.
  • Analyze, review, and validate asset maintenance transactions and recognize capital activity

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Analytical and detailed oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Self-starter and independent
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in data analytics and/or data visualization tools such as Alteryx and Tableau, preferred

 

How We Use Alteryx

Currently, our team mainly uses the process automation capabilities of Alteryx for project expenditure reviews, journal entry creation and project status tracking. The Fixed Assets team is looking for an individual with accounting and process automation experience to assist in further automation opportunities.
