Please use this discussion to post any/all questions you have about the event. Alteryx is hosting a Datathon on Friday, October 20th at Alteryx's New York City office. This thread will help answer questions with anything you might like to know about the event and the preliminary round happening on October 13th - from how to register to details about the in-person competition. Post a question or comment and we will get back to you with all the information you need. The Details: Round 1 – The Virtual Qualifying Challenge Round 1 will begin at 1pm on Friday, October 13th and you will have between 1pm-3:30pm EST to work towards a solution. Round 1 is a time-based challenge and the first seventy-five (75) individuals to correctly solve the problem will be eligible to move on to Round 2. Round 2 – In-person Datathon Teams will be assigned and will participate in Round 2 at the Alteryx Office in New York City, NY on Friday October 20th starting at 8am EST. All finalists must register in person at the Alteryx Office in New York City, NY on Friday October 20th at 8am EST for Round 2 to register and to gain access to the problem. Round 1 Finalists will be put into small teams and have 4 hours to solve as many use cases as possible and then get to present findings to our judges. The top 3 teams will then compete in a final time-based round, and then we’ll announce the winners. What you can win: prizes totaling $20,000 Register today!! No previous experience required, beginners are welcome! To Qualify: All participants must have obtained at least one Alteryx Certification prior to the event. Click here to learn more. We will dive into the world of data preparation, manipulation, and analysis with the guidance of our Alteryx ACES - Analytics experts and community advocates. @Deanna Sanchez, Alteryx ACE and GIS (Geographical Information Systems) expert, will be leading these trainings this upcoming Fall, sharing her expertise on all things data analytics and Designer core tools and functions through hands-on Alteryx Designer application with sample and/or publicly available datasets.
Participants will gain mastery over a variety of Alteryx Designer tools, including Input Data and Output Data Tools, Filter Tool, Union Tool, Parsing Tools, among many others. We'll provide you with real-world scenarios to put your skills to the test and gain practical data analytics and Alteryx experience. Whether you're a SparkED student hungry for analytics knowledge or a curious learner seeking hands-on Alteryx experience, this is the training series for you! These workshops are structured to equip you with essential skills in data manipulation, transformation, cleansing, and more. With expert guidance and hands-on practice, you'll gain confidence in using Alteryx tools effectively and efficiently.
While these workshops are a great step towards Designer Core Certification preparation, they are not an exhaustive guide covering every aspect of the certification exam. The certification process requires a broader understanding of Alteryx Designer, and our workshops serve as a foundation for your preparation journey.
