Date datatype doesn't work properly

I have a dataset that has valid dates in it (no times) - see second pic below.  The field came in as text.  I switched the field to datetime (cuz date-only wasn't an option), and it couldn't parse them.  It made them all null - see pic below.

Hi Tracey,

 

At the moment, the only supported format for Datetimes are ISO8601 timestamps (example: "2018-09-15T15:53:00"). We'd like to add more formatting options, but parsing the various permutations of timestamp/date format hasn't made it to the top of the backlog yet.
