2019 Q4 LB and OC User Group Meeting Recap

Adara
8 - Asteroid

Thank you to everyone who made it out for our joint meeting with the Long Beach User Group on Tuesday! We had a great time, saw a lot of new faces, and some returning ones.

Here's a quick recap of the meeting's events, the slide deck used is attached to the post:

  • Lauren gave everyone a quick tour of the Alteryx HQ office. We got to see all the workspaces, rec areas, and snag a few selfies with the VW bus (post yours on this thread!).
  • John from Arbonne International taught everyone about the dramatic and ever-expanding world of transfer pricing, High Noon-esque company interactions, and how Alteryx helped him beat his analysis deadline in a matter of hours.
  • Brandon, Solutions Engineer at Alteryx, showed up how he is saving relationships with his analytic app "Where Should We Eat Tonight", which takes the guessing out of picking a restaurant using Yelp data. He also demoed another app he's developing, picking a dog by breed that's available from local shelters for adoption.
  • Neil from Anthem, of the famed Use Case Excellence Award, walked us through how he greatly improved his company's email marketing campaign management by taking several different data sources, formatting what is relevant, and outputting deployment-ready files for email campaigns.

Each of our presenters, with different backgrounds, resources, skill level, and problems, all demonstrated how you can do pretty much anything with Alteryx, improving on existing company tools and programs!

Special thanks to Cathy and Neil, the Long Beach User Group leaders for helping making this meeting possible and a huge thank you to Cat and all the team at Alteryx for providing their time, resources, venue, and food for everyone.

As always, we are here for you, our user group members. If you have any ideas, suggestions, topics, locations to meet or would like to present a use case at our next meeting, please reach out here or through messaging.

Have a great weekend everyone, see you next time.

Sarah and Zach
