We were back in Slalom’s fantastic office in London Bridge for our 22nd London Alteryx User Group. After a quick bite and a beer, @Joe_Lipski  kicked off the night with the latest updates from the community and also shared some exciting news from our very own @paul_houghton. This gave us the perfect opportunity for a bit off audience participation as we played, Guess the Baby’s Name.

As this user group was only 6 weeks before Inspire EMEA, we decided to dedicate the night to everything Inspire related. We heard from 3 fantastic speakers that are due to take to the stage in October. They gave us a sneaky peak into what to expect on the day but before I spill the beans, a couple of key announcements from Alteryx:

  • With only 38 days until the biggest event of the year, Alteryx are offering a buy one get one free promotion until 15th For every ticket you purchase, you will receive a complimentary code for a free ticket. Please note that all codes will expire on 15th September so don’t miss out!!
  • It’s your time to shine! The deadline for the Analytics Excellence Awards has been extended. Get your use case submitted by 13th September for a chance to win: https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Use-Cases/tkb-p/use-cases

Our first speaker of the night was Javier Cuadriello-Rodriguez, a Programme Manager at EDF Energy. Javier was joined by Richard Birtwistle, a Consultant from Concentra.

Javier and Richard explained how they built GMAP, an agile finance analytics platform, using Alteryx. Each day, over 200 data sources are processed through 150 different workflows in order to provide their finance team with the data they require to calculate, analyse and provide insights on their profitability quickly and easily.

Up next was Alexey Nikityuk, the FP&A Manager at Revolut.

Similarly to EDF, Revolut were after an agile analytics system for their financial reporting. Before switching to Alteryx, reporting was primarily Excel based but this solution couldn’t provide the desired results. Now that Alteryx is fully embedded in the business, in the future they plan to make the most of the predictive and reporting tools in Alteryx.

Our last speaker of the night was Lilian Hoang, a Data and Analytics Consultant at Slalom.
