Greetings Everyone!

The Q3 2020 Business and Location Insights data packages are now available to plug into your analytic processes. The packages include analytics-ready data from a variety of vendors as well as data-specific analysis tools which will empower users to get the most from the packaged data. Here is what you can look forward to in this release:

Refreshed Data

United States Demographics, Consumer Expenditures and Lifestyle Data Updates have been
updated and refreshed to reflect both the current year (2020) and the five-year projections (2025). This includes updates to demographic, consumer attitude and behavior, and consumer expenditure data to help you make more informed decisions.

Changes to the Business Insights Install Process

This update introduces a change in how you will download and install the Business Insights data package as well as all future releases. The datasets are now divided into two installers: one for the Experian ConsumerView dataset, and one for the remaining datasets including TomTom and Dun & Bradstreet.

For those of you who don’t use the Experian ConsumerView dataset, this means a smaller file to download and install. (Score!) For those of you who do, please be prepared to download and install both bundles of data.

Other changes

  • There are format changes to the URL fields in the US and Canada Dun & Bradstreet business list data.

Details: D&B Analytical file: The no data value for URL Related Fields (URL 1-5, URL MATCH TYPE, REDIRECT INDICATOR) has been changed from null to an empty string. For D&B Canada URL STATUS INDICATOR 1-5 has had its no data value changed to 0.

  • US Only: Fixed Experian Full US Q3 2020 dataset to reflect the updated values (as many of you noted last quarter’s update had values from a previous year). Rest assured we’ve addressed that issue this time around and we appreciate your feedback.

  • Canada Only: As announced in Q3 2019, Statistics Canada 2011 (“Canada Data”) has been removed. Statistics Canada 2016 will continue to be supported.

All data packages are available via the Downloads and Licenses  portal. US and Canada Business Insights customers will receive their hard drives later this week, but they are also welcome to download the data from the portal.

All documentation packages are available for download: 2020_Q3_Documentation  .

Enjoy the new data (and hopefully updated forecasts)!
