2021 Data Release Schedule

The scheduled releases for the 2021 Business and Location Insights are as follows:

There has been a delay from our CASS data provider and the August 2021 CASS release (2021.08) is expected to be delayed until Tuesday August 31, 2021.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Any idea when Location Insights will transition to or begin using 2020 SF1 geographies?

At this time the census does not have a definitive timeline for their data releases for the 2020 Census and is experiencing delays. While some census data has been released, e.g. Congressional Redistricting Files, the main census data has not.

Census variable data found in our Business Insights Package is sourced from Experian CAPE, “Census Area Projections & Estimates”. Due to Census Bureau delays, Experian does not expect 2020 Census data to be included in CAPE until Spring 2023.

2020 Census geographies will start showing up in geocoding soon since TomTom data is not dependent on demographic counts. They plan to be fully integrated with the 2020 Census by the Q4 2021 release.

If Experian is not able to provide 2020 Census counts in CAPE sooner, we may consider providing the Census Data to our current Business and Location Insights customers by building data directly from the Census. However, this is dependent on the release schedules of the Census Bureau and Experian. We would not expect this to be releasable to customers until late 2022 at the earliest.

The Location Insights datasets update to 2020 SF1 geographies could be released earlier, however it depends on the availability of geographic and demographic data available.  We are expecting to be able to create a final timeline and communicate it on Community.
