I have been self-training on Alteryx in my free time here at work for a few months and really love it - best of all, management approved the budget for me to attend Inspire 2018! Yay!!!!
I look forward to networking with you guys, improving my skill level, and HOPEFULLY passing the Core certification exam on my first try!
I signed up for the Core certification prep training - do any of you professionals out there have any additional hints or suggestions to help me out?
Thanks in advance, and See Ya!

Congrats on your budget approval! This will be my 4th Inspire and they're always a great experience.
Regarding the exam, keep in mind that the exams are "open book". So I would definitely have Designer and the Help website open when you begin. The "data types" Help page is handy to be familiar with (in practice and during the exam).

How crucial is knowing how to build macros for Core certification? That is an area I am still weak in.

According to the Certification page, the Interface tools (used to build macros/apps) are listed as a part of the Advanced Exam level.

Be prepared to answer questions about the different Alteryx File Types.
A lot of questions about data prep and blending, I recall a few questions about the Unique tool.
You have 3 tries, so try it once, and if you pass, great, otherwise, you'll know what to expect for try number 2.
Go to the bathroom before you start the exam. ;)
Good luck!

Good to know!
Thanks!
This is probably a stupid question... but what is the typical mode of dress at this event? Business casual, jeans-casual, or do people wear shorts and t-shirts?

I have seen people wear everything from jeans and a T-shirt to full suits. Wear what you feel comfortable in.
Haven't seen anybody in "resort wear" (flip flops and board shorts) but I'm sure you get the idea. :-)

PS one thing I've found about this community is that there are no stupid questions.
And if anyone gives you the feeling your question IS stupid, ping me and I'll set them straight!
I find "touchy" forums to be annoying, and I'm glad this forum isn't that way.
:-)
