    1. Brian Sims, Manager and Houston BU Technical Leader for KPMG Audit Data Analytics - Primarily in oil and gas, chemicals and energy and power industries
  2. What's your favorite website for techy things?
    1. Data Science Central
    2. Kaggle
    3. Big Data University
  3. How do you currently use Alteryx?
    1. Looking at applying pattern recognition for financial (public and non-public) audits
    2. Computer aided audit techniques for comparisons and vouching
    3. Audit schedule optimizatio
  4. What areas would you like to grow in?
    1. The R tools in Alteryx
  5. Which professional Houston sports team will win a championship next?
    1. Toss up between Texans or Rockets. I think the Astros still have a ways to go.

Hi all,

 

  1. My name is Karin Enters and I am a project manager at KPMG (global mobility services - technology). 
  2. I don't have one but that may change soon.
  3. Just took Alteryx training in July so slowly getting up to speed. Starting with dataflows to increase efficiencies but working up towards more predictive analytics
  4. Everyting Alteryx has to offer with the ultimate goal to be an 'expert' at predictive analytics
  5. I wish I could say the Texans  :-(

Hi all-

 

Nice to finally find a user group that isn't in Dallas or Austin so I can actually participate and attend events. See my answers below.

 

    1. Michael Stringfellow - Team Lead and Technical Architect, BI Services Group at Invesco
    2. I find myself on Stack Overflow alot and have been playing around on d3js.org for custom visualizations.
    3. Using Alteryx for POCs around predictive analytics.
    4. Right now concentrating on R and Python for data analysis/predictive analytics.
    5. Astros are the closest unless Brock somehow finds some accuracy. I'd like for it to be the Texans.

    1. Not being a huge sports fan, I would have to put my money behind the Houston Bounty Hunters,professional dodgeball, who knew?

1. What is your name, title, and which industry do you work in?

My name is Jubail Caballero and I'm an analytics consultant with InterWorks. I come from a retail background but have clients across different industries. I'm new to the area, having just relocated from Bentonville, AR (home to Walmart HQ).

 

2. What's your favorite website for techy things?

I find Wired always has interesting articles on tech. The New Yorker will have interesting ones every now and then as well.

 

3. How do you currently use Alteryx?

It varies across clients. Lately, it has been macro development, application orchestration, and data management.

 

4. What areas would you like to grow in?

I would like to beef up my R / Python skills.

 

5. Which professional Houston sports team will win a championship next?

The Texans of course!
