2019 Q3 Meeting Recap

Thanks to all Houston area user group members who were able to the make it out to our 2019 Q3 meeting last week!

Meeting Recap

Felix Gonzalez from Shell Oil covered some of the CReW Macros during the “Tool of the Day” portion of the meeting.  The Runner, Conditional Runner and List Runner can make life much easier when you're trying to chain together different workflows where a dependency exists or if you just want them run in a specific order.   The link to download them is located here.  There are plenty of other macros included in the download so have a look and see if any of them help make your workflows more dynamic and powerful!

We also had a fun quiz that tested the participants' knowledge of Alteryx Tools, history and User Groups!  First and second place won some cool Alteryx swag.  So if you see anyone walking around town wearing some Alteryx sunglasses, say "Hi" and congratulate them on their Alteryx knowledge!

Daniel from Alteryx gave a presentation on some of the cool features that exist as part of 2019.2.  And he also reminded everyone that the next release should drop in the very near future!  So I'm sure we'll all be keeping an eye out for that!

Thanks once again to Chris Fink ( from SM Energy for providing an amazing space for us to hold the meeting!

The Houston User Group leaders will go back and review the survey results gathered earlier in the year to help determine the content for the next meeting.  Once we figure out a date for the Q4 meeting we’ll post it in the community.

As a reminder, the Houston User Group is always looking for speakers who would like to share their use cases. If presenting interests you, please reply back to this thread.

Regards,

The Houston Alteryx User Group leaders
