How Do I get my Left Interface Designer back and working?

My left tool bar (interface Designer) did not appear when I logged in like usual.  I went to View selected "Interface Designer" but it popped on and was black.  Typically, when you select a node, information will show on the left tool bar.  Mine isn't showing.   I'm not sure how to fix this.  I've spent 30 minutes looking for a solution in the Alteryx Community.  I imagine it happens occasionally and there is a simple solution.  Thank you

The fix I found was, to go to: Options -> User Settings -> Restore Defaults
