Morning,
When I loaded the Community page this morning, a file automatically downloaded. When I refreshed the page, another file automatically downloaded. I thought it might be connected to the link I use to access the Community so I accessed it via google and I got the same thing.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Having investigated a little (in Chrome Inspector), in the network tab I can see that the file is supplied by simplecast which leads me to believe it is linked to my recent subscription to the Alteryx Podcast.
I should add that I have run AV and no identified issues and that this automatic download only happens with the Alteryx Community site.
The files contain what appear to be transcripts from a casino chat room. 😥
Each file has over 50,000 chat messages from a casino chatroom....
Hi @Shifty ,
@TheOC and myself have had a look at this and something's not right. Using the WordCloud tool in Alteryx, you can inspect the item and it actually contains a chat JSON, which we've visualised:
This is definitely not a thing you want.
@MaddieJ , @NeilR there looks like an issue with Simple Cast. Any ideas?
M.
Definitely simplecast:
@Shifty , I've also had the issue.
It happens when you open chrome and first log into the community. I've had two files download.

I've tested this on my side, and i don't get a file, but i also don't subscribe to the podcasts (i do now @MaddieJ !)
So it would make sense for this to be simplecast with a faulty request(?).
In case anyone is actually interested, this issue has ceased - no automatic file downloads anymore. Would love to know what was causing it!
