Error 80070020 During Alteryx Designer Installation on Windows 10 - Need Help!

Hi fellow Alteryx users,

I'm trying to install Alteryx Designer on my Windows 10 system, but I keep encountering the 'Error 80070020: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.' I've made sure to close all other applications, followed the installation guide, and even restarted my computer, but the issue persists. Has anyone else faced this problem and found a solution?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Emma,

You might want to try disabling your antivirus temporarily or exclude the Alteryx installation folder from scanning, as it may be locking the file. Also, check if Windows Update is running in the background, as it could interfere with the installation. If that doesn't work, you may want to try installing Alteryx Designer with administrative privileges. Right-click on the installer and select "Run as administrator."
