Our second “Ask Us Anything” Alteryx Governance Series webinar focused on governance and digital transformation.

Moderated by Lachlan Nichols (@Lachlan_Nichols), this session focused on risk management across the analytics lifecycle within an organization. Identifying risks within Excel files, governing and automating those processes, applying risk checks to those automated processes, and incorporating risk and audit tracking as a part of your production process for analytics workflows.

In the Alteryx governance series, we want to hear your feedback and share best practices we see across the industry. Check out the recording (passcode: krR@X8P2), where we discussed best practices and answered questions submitted during the session. This time, we featured two special guests:

  • Omar Quraishi, CEO of Workscope, presented ways to better manage end-user computing tools like Excel, create lineage for spreadsheets, and manage risk. He also showed how to build a transformation strategy to unlock efficiency gains by identifying opportunities to move spreadsheet processes into Alteryx.

  • Henan Li (@@hli200), who works as Resident Consultant for Alteryx, shared ways to automate checking workflows for common errors. Helping users to avoid common pitfalls is an important element in the overall analytic governance process. Henan outlined ways for Centers of Excellence to build tests and guide users to adopt best practices.

  • Lastly, we introduced the new “Risk and Audit Manager”, a lightweight application to record basic information about workflow risks and benefits. By getting a better understanding about risks inherent to a specific workflow,  we can design a more efficient process to promote to production.

Note also our new Enterprise Readiness blog series in the Engine Works section on the Alteryx community, with the first post on integrating Alteryx with data lineage services being already live.

We would like to thank all participants for submitting questions and hope that such events can further enrich your Alteryx experience! If you have ideas or topic for future sessions, please reach out to via the comments box below.
