Discussion thread for day 1 of the Advent of Code 2021 - https://adventofcode.com/2021/day/1
Deceptively easy, as all of the day ones have been thus far....
and so it begins ...
Easy day 1...
Expect it will get harder!
They're trying to lull you into complacency, Esther. DON'T FALL FOR IT!! Intcode could be just around the corner!!! ***DOOOOOOM***
Totally agree, feel like this one was simple (thank you, Multi-Row Formula), but I am still impressed/annoyed at the overall AoC leaderboard folks who apparently solved both puzzles in less than 2 minutes.
Like, it takes me two minutes to remember what year this is.
Nice gentle start this year
As everybody, not so hard start !
As usual day 1 is fine, it's always interesting (like with weekly challenges) seeing others solutions and seeing tool golf like with @Balders solution.
Agree... Day 1 is always easy. But don't worry, it WILL get harder.
This is my first time participating and this was a nice easing in. Looking forward to the harder challenges!
Easing in gently 🙂
The Advent Of Code season has arrived again this year.
I joined this event as anonymous user #1105310 last year, but this year I joined by GitHub account that is the same as Community account name.
But, I may take less time for this fun this year...

Nice one @Balders ,
Im stealing your idea for downloading the data
That was neat 😄
Ah! the calm before the storm
Dan
The start is always easy ...
Day 1 made me a little overconfident 😅
Tried solving part 2 without using the same Multi-Row Formula approach I took in part 1 - not a bad initial puzzle.
This is my first time taking part in Advent of Code - and also first exercise undertaken.
Looking forward to the next couple of days as we get to some of the tougher ones
I'm surprised that they didn't ask you to bring the data down via an API...
Late for the festival exercise, but here I am 😉
Lulling me into a false sense of security...
