Are you looking for a change?  Data Prep U is hiring!  The Analytics Consultant is responsible for creating and delivering educational content to Data Prep U clients on Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, and other analytic platforms and topics. Primary goal of this role will be to deliver live training for our supported platforms to audiences ranging in size from 1 to 1,000. Training may also include live webinars and creating recorded on-demand e-learning courses, blog posts, and other media. In addition to a high level of technical proficiency, a successful Data Educator can translate complex technical ideas into clear, accessible, actionable concepts for beginner to intermediate learners from diverse backgrounds, industries, and roles. Data Prep U goes beyond simply technical training to ensure our clients learn the necessary analytic mindset and applications to succeed with the platform, so the Data Educator must also be able to integrate broader strategic and conceptual training. 

 

Job Duties 

  • Research, plan, outline, develop, and produce on-demand courses alone or in tandem with other team members, following Data Prep U’s best practices and structures. This includes: 
  • Determining appropriate topics and structing an effective outline. 
  • Filming introductory or descriptive lessons (I.e. “talking head” where you will be on camera). 
  • Recording screen capture videos demonstrating skills or actions in an analytic platform. 
  • Creating and presenting slide decks. 
  • Creating quizzes, tests, flip cards, and other interactive pages to support the course lessons. 
  • Developing practical assignments to reinforce learning for students. 
  • Develop and deliver live training sessions virtually or in person, including: 
  • Webinars for prospects. 
  • One-on-one training sessions for individual clients. 
  • Structured, guided training for teams. 
  • Office hours or open sessions to answer technical questions. 
  • Sales support calls to assist sales team with technical platform expertise. 
  • Write blog posts and white papers on analytic and platform topics. 
  • Manage on-going relationships with active clients, including planning and developing ongoing training, assessing progress and engagement, and supporting sales. 
  • Up to 25% travel may be required (when safe to do so) to provide in-person training. 
  • Other job duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements: 

  • At least three years providing analytic instruction or education. 
  • This includes serving as a technical support to a sales team or as an analytic consultant, onboarding teams to analytic platforms, or a formal training role. 
  • Advanced proficiency with at least one of the following platforms: Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau (more than one a plus). 
  • Self-starter able to manage working in a fast-paced, less-structured start-up environment. 
  • Organized and able to effectively manage time, with multiple large projects concurrently. 
  • Clear, concise, and effective written and oral communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (including Teams), Zoom, and WebEx. 
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications and technical skills. 
  • Comfort and proficiency with public speaking. 

 

Nice to have:  

  • Additional proficiency with UI Path, Snowflake, Qlik, or other analytic platform. 
  • Formal education in adult learning or related topic. 
  • Work experience in a workforce development or learning solutions role with analytics. 
  • Formal education or work experience with advanced analytic topics such as statistics, predictive analytics, or machine learning/AI.
