Hi, DFW Maveryx, and Happy New Year! Save the date for our January DFW Alteryx User Group Virtual Meeting, which will be held on Friday, January 31st, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. CT! We have some great topics to start the new year, and we begin with an awesome guest speaker: Scott Jones, Principal Analytics Consultant at DCG!
For those who have been using Alteryx for a while, you may remember Scott Jones as the amazing Grand Prix Emcee! Scott hosted the Grand Prix at the Alteryx Inspire conference for years, and his impressive voice announced the play-by-play events with energy and enthusiasm! Those of you who have been using Alteryx for a LONG time may also remember Scott Jones as an expert solutions engineer (SE) at Alteryx - in fact, I met him in 2011 when he was supporting the retail company where I managed Alteryx internally!
Scott will be presenting Auto Insights and the new Magic Reports, and he has provided this overview:
Getting to Know Auto Insights
Learn about the newest offering from Alteryx that allows you to quickly analyze data, create reports, and share findings in a SaaS environment. We will discuss best practices for loading data, how to create data examples automatically, and use machine learning algorithms to find the most interesting facts about your data. Then use Magic Reports to create and edit projects for PPT or email with AI generated explainability in any tone for different audiences.

Next, I will present how to utilize the Spatial toolset in Alteryx with your own spatial data - or publicly available online data! It is a common thought that the Spatial toolset can only be used with the add-on data bundles in Alteryx, for an additional cost. However, if you have datasets with latitude and longitude data, or a shapefile (.shp), or a similar spatial data format such as MapInfo .tab or Google Earth .kml files, you can perform spatial analytics with them in Alteryx, with no add-ons required!
I will show techniques for spatial analytics in the following topics:
