Hi, Dallas Alteryx User Group Members!  Thank you for a great user group meeting on February 24th; we had an excellent turnout, and lots of Alteryx information delivered in just 2 hours.  :)  Marek Koenig, Solution Architect of Slalom presented "Retail Site Selection using Alteryx" along with client Jason Claunch of Catalyst.  http://www.slalom.com

Jeff Stacey of DataRobot, an Alteryx Alliance Partner, then presented the many benefits of DataRobot within the Predictive Analytics toolset.  http://www.datarobot.com

Thanks also to Sean Hayward, Solution Principal at Slalom and team for generously providing a delicious La Madeleine lunch to our user group members!

As mentioned in the meeting, Alteryx is partnering with the User Groups to assist with Alteryx For Good (AFG)!  Alteryx For Good enables user group members to volunteer for local nonprofits in order to facilitate their use of Alteryx.  The nonprofit organization may potentially qualify for a free Designer license of Alteryx, if their operating budget is less than $10 million (other factors are considered, and the nonprofit will need to apply via Alteryx for an AFG license).  User Group members can assist the nonprofit with our Alteryx expertise, helping them utilize the software to understand their data, enhance their financial processes, incorporate analytics, generate reports, and even use the Gallery for automation and sharing of resources internally.

With our Dallas Alteryx User Group having so many members, we can choose more than one nonprofit to help.  Here is a list of nonprofit organizations in the Dallas area that we can choose from; more may be added as we discover organizations that can benefit from Alteryx (and there are many).  Please feel free to post and add nonprofits to this list to be considered; if you know of any organizations, or if you currently volunteer for an organization, we would love to know, and will research to see if they may qualify!

The Commit! Partnership    http://commit2dallas.org/  -- Currently has an AFG license; they just need Alteryx users to assist!

These do not yet have an AFG license, but qualify, with an operating budget of less than $10M (thanks to Alteryx for providing this list) --

The Retina Foundation of the Southwest     http://retinafoundation.org/  -- I understand one of our users may have a connection there

Dallas Children's Advocacy Center     http://www.dcac.org/

Human Rights Initiative of North Texas     http://www.hrionline.org/

Interfaith Family Services     http://interfaithdallas.org/

Vogel Alcove     https://vogelalcove.org/home/the-problem/

To check if your nonprofit may have an operating budget of less than $10M, the Guidestar website is helpful:  https://www.guidestar.org/Home.aspx (thanks to Alteryx again for providing this excellent link).  If the operating budget is less than $10M, the nonprofit may apply to Alteryx For Good via the Community AFG website .

Or, the nonprofit can access the Alteryx For Good link at the bottom of the main Alteryx MENU webpage at http://www.alteryx.com/ (Click on the Menu button at the top right, then visit Alteryx For Good using the link at the bottom of the page.)

The deadline for selecting our nonprofit organizations is March 31st.

Volunteers will then group their talents together and volunteer on site for the organizations during AFG week, April 23-29, 2017.

If you can volunteer for just one hour, a few hours, or a couple of days, no amount of time is too small.  Even just one person volunteering for one organization is a huge help!  In addition, if you don't have time to volunteer in person, please consider joining our "Volunteer Board" where you are available to answer Alteryx questions and provide support and expertise via email, phone, etc. to our onsite volunteers.

Many companies are now providing paid time to their employees, for use in volunteering.  Please check with your company to see if they will provide paid time for you to donate your time and Alteryx expertise to these great causes!

To sign up, and/or to choose from the nonprofit organizations above, as well as nominate new ones, please reply to this post, or you may email me at dsanchez@axisgroup.com .

We will post updates and information from Alteryx as we progress.  Thanks to each of you for your willingness to assist others; we are making a positive difference in our metroplex for so many!

Hi, Dallas Alteryx User Group Members!  Just an update to the Signup Info for Alteryx For Good; please note that the deadline to sign up is this Friday, March 31st!

Thanks to each of you who have sent in your vote and recommendations for non-profit organizations!  So far, we have votes for the following 2 non-profits:

The Commit! Partnership http://commit2dallas.org/ -- Currently The Commit! Partnership has an AFG license; they just need Alteryx users to assist!

The Retina Foundation of the Southwest http://retinafoundation.org/

As mentioned in the previous post, if you can volunteer for just one hour, a few hours, or a couple of days, no amount of time is too small.  Even just one person volunteering for one organization is a huge help!  In addition, if you don't have time to volunteer in person, please consider joining our "Volunteer Board" where you are available to answer Alteryx questions and provide support and expertise via email, phone, etc. to our onsite volunteers.

To volunteer to assist these organizations with implementing and utilizing Alteryx, please reply to this post, or email me at dsanchez@axisgroup.com by this Friday, March 31st.

We volunteers will then group our talents together and volunteer on site for the organizations during AFG week, April 23-29, 2017.

Again, if you can only volunteer for a couple of hours, that is still a huge help to these organizations!  Even one hour for one day (possibly a lunch hour?) will help.  If interested, let us know your schedule and when you are free to volunteer during the week of April 23rd.  Once signups are complete, we will send scheduling and additional information for the onsite visits.

Just as important, for those who cannot volunteer in person, please let us know if you can be available by email or phone, as a resource to provide Alteryx expertise to our onsite volunteers.

Most of you already know the amazing impacts Alteryx can have in providing self-service analytics; the time savings alone can greatly benefit a company, allowing them to use their time wisely for analytic insight, and not for manually copying and pasting data.

Consider what an impact you can make if you help a non-profit organization use their time to benefit many more recipients, instead of grappling with their data?

Thanks to each of you for sharing your knowledge and experience; together we can turn "days into hours, hours into minutes" for the organizations' data blending and analytics, giving them back those days and hours to help so many others!
