Community Summer Cup Returns for 2025

Get ready, get set… We’re excited to announce that the Community Summer Cup is back, with more opportunities for special badges!

The competition is here—from August 11^th through August 29^th, you’ll be able to earn points toward these coveted medal badges:

🥇 Gold 500+ points

🥈 Silver 250-499 

🥉 Bronze 100-249 

How to Earn Points

You can earn points by completing the following activities. Keep in mind, many of these can be completed more than once!

Connecting  

• Engage in an area in the Community you have never been before +75
• Join and post in a User Group +150
• Update your bio on your Community profile +100 
• Subscribe to the security bulletin in MyAlteryx (see spoiler below) +100

Saqueador

To sign up for the new Security Notifications in the customer portal, MyAlteryx, follow these simple steps.

1. Access the customer portal, MyAlteryx, at https://my.alteryx.com/
   1. Use your B2C SSO logon, same one that is used to access Community.
2. Once authenticated, navigate to the Preference Center
   1. At the top right of the screen will be your profile initials, clicking on them will show a drop-down menu, select Preference Center.
      
   2. Select Communication Preferences category and then opt in (checkbox) for the Security Notifications
      
      

Learning 

• Complete an Interactive Lesson +100
• Complete a Weekly Challenge +100 
• Complete a Cloud Quest +100
• Attend a Community Live session +400

Sharing 

• Share a workflow, app, or macro on the Gallery +250 
• Share your thoughts by commenting on an Alter Everything Podcast post or Community Blog +50 
• Answer unanswered discussion forum questions +25 (+25 additional points if it is a non-English discussion thread)

This is your official recap of week 1 of the Alteryx Summer Cup! There’s been lots of movement so far, with 250+ users participating for that coveted Gold Medal! Check out this breakdown of the score counts so far:

Here are some tips and hints to get you over the finish line!

• There are still Community Live sessions you can attend for 400 points!
  • 08/22/2025 Community Live is an office hours on the data connection manager (DCM)
  • 08/26/2025 Community Live is a Weekly Challenge #444 – Live Solve
• Make sure to subscribe to the security bulletin in MyAlteryx for an easy 100 pts!
• Weekly Challenges and Cloud Quests (100 pts each) are great ways to get points and grow your Alteryx knowledge!

• Hint: You can earn points by doing the same challenge more than once

Is there any chance we would receive Summer Cup points for this? It was a company-specific training, so I understand it would be a manual process to award the points. 😬

Unfortunately, we cannot award points, even if they are Altexy-related. In the future, it seems like this could potentially be a consideration, so we will put it in our back pocket for next year, perhaps!
